Special Olympics Alabama offers year-round sports training and competition in over twenty Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Eligible individuals must be at least eight years of age and must be identified by a medical agency or professional as having an intellectual disability.

A completed Athlete Participation Packet and Release form must be completed. As part of the athlete participation packet, the new or returning athlete must have a medical examination done by a certified medical professional.
